Quick Start Guide

Five minutes to connect, test, and launch.

Welcome to QuantsEdge! This guide will get you from zero to your first automated trading bot in just a few minutes. We'll walk through the complete process of setting up your account, testing a strategy, and launching your first bot.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

Compatible Wallet: A wallet that supports MetaMask or WalletConnect for secure authentication. Popular options include MetaMask, WalletConnect-compatible wallets, or hardware wallets.

Modern Browser: Use a modern Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave) or the QuantsEdge iOS app for optimal performance and security.

Basic Understanding: Familiarity with cryptocurrency trading concepts will help, but our platform is designed to be accessible to traders of all experience levels.

Step 1: Account Setup and Authentication

Connect Your Wallet

  1. Visit the Platform: Navigate to the QuantsEdge web application or open the iOS app.

  2. Choose Authentication Method: Click Continue with Wallet to connect using your existing cryptocurrency wallet.

  3. Approve Connection: Your wallet will prompt you to approve the connection. Review the permissions and approve to proceed.

  4. Sign Login Message: Complete the authentication by signing the login message. This signature is valid for 24 hours, providing seamless access without repeated wallet interactions.

  5. Enable Biometric Login (iOS): On mobile devices, tap Legacy Login once to enable Face ID or Touch ID for future sessions, making subsequent logins faster and more convenient.

Security Features

Your wallet connection provides several security benefits:

  • Non-custodial: Your private keys never leave your device

  • Hardware-backed: Maximum security through your existing wallet infrastructure

  • Session management: Automatic logout for security with easy re-authentication

Step 2: Strategy Validation Process

QuantsEdge enforces a rigorous three-stage validation process to ensure your strategies are thoroughly tested before risking real capital. This progression cannot be skipped and is designed to protect your investment.

Stage 1: Backtesting

Purpose: Validate your strategy against historical market data to understand how it would have performed in the past.

Process:

  1. Navigate to the Strategy Lab section

  2. Select a pre-built template or create a custom strategy

  3. Configure your parameters (entry/exit rules, risk management, etc.)

  4. Run the backtest against historical data (typically 3-12 months)

  5. Review the results including profit/loss, drawdown, win rate, and other key metrics

What to Look For:

  • Consistent profitability across different market conditions

  • Reasonable maximum drawdown (typically under 20%)

  • Sufficient number of trades for statistical significance

  • Performance that matches your risk tolerance

Stage 2: Paper Trading

Purpose: Test your strategy with live market data using simulated capital to identify any real-time issues.

Process:

  1. Switch to Paper Trading mode in the Strategy Lab

  2. Deploy your validated strategy with simulated capital

  3. Monitor performance for at least 1-2 weeks

  4. Compare results to your backtest expectations

  5. Verify that execution matches your strategy logic

Key Benefits:

  • Real-time market conditions with zero financial risk

  • Identifies issues that backtesting might miss

  • Builds confidence in your strategy's live performance

  • Allows for parameter adjustments before going live

Stage 3: Testnet Trading

Purpose: Final validation using Hyperliquid's testnet environment with play tokens to test the complete trading infrastructure.

Process:

  1. Switch to Testnet mode

  2. Deploy your strategy using Hyperliquid's testnet

  3. Monitor order execution, fills, and system integration

  4. Verify all risk controls and safety mechanisms work correctly

  5. Confirm the complete trading pipeline functions as expected

Critical Validation:

  • Order execution and fills work correctly

  • Risk management systems activate properly

  • System integration with Hyperliquid functions smoothly

  • All monitoring and alerting systems operate correctly
